PURPOSE
Siso Foundation’s driving force is appropriate and improved development initiatives. Our primary goal is to support initiatives and interventions that seek to establish a truly empowering and sustainable socio-economic capability across the continent. Thus, we are mainly interested in development projects and engagements that emphasise capacity building and socio-economic empowerment as critical to their overall intent.
Siso Foundation is a management support consultancy that draws on the aggregated expertise of high-powered technical, social and financial development groups of consultants working in various capacities.Siso Foundation therefore brings rare asset to the broad development endeavour. Our intimate knowledge and sensitivity to the territory’s needs, contacts and backgrounds that cut across the government sector, the development community and non-governmental organisations, as well as the requisite skills and technical, social and financial competencies to get the job done, all serve to give us a competitive edge.
STRUCTURE AND OPERATIONS
Siso Foundation is a 100% black owned, and is registered as a close corporation. It is run from South Africa and in Gauteng with the intention of expansion to other provinces. It is staffed by small group members, who work cooperatively on projects, supported by administrative staff. The cooperative style to project work, particularly project conceptualisation and planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, is driven by our conviction of the relative advantage of multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving.
This is opposed to the single-expert approach, which has characterised development work for many years. Siso Foundation has a multidisciplinary staff of specialists in donor support as well as policy/regulatory analysis and institutional development. Our senior consultants have 15-20 years of hands–on experience covering the entire continent of Africa. The members take the ultimate responsibility for the timely delivery of good quality product. Our primary focus is undertaking development oriented assignments for/with the following clientele/development partnerships:
- Government units
- Development agencies
- Corporate social investment of companies
- NGO’s, CBO’s and FBO’s
The aim of Siso Foundation is to:
- Provide institutional capacity building to community based organisations and non-governmental organisations.
- Help in developing organisational objectives, mission, vision and strategic objectives for community based organisations and non-governmental organisations.
- Provide needs based interventions to community based organisations as well as individuals (i.e. training, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation).
- Provide grant management services to donors, funders and government departments.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and support to community based organisations and non-governmental organisations
